Keeping it fresh

We know our children are little sponges, constantly absorbing information from their environment. Sometimes, however, when dealing with children, little things can get lost in translation...

Elliott recently had awful nappy rash that was very stubborn in clearing up. I resorted to plenty of nappy free time, despite the consequences of his personal sprinkler system reigning free (I am so grateful for my tiled floor at times!) Anyway, Sophie inevitably questioned why Elliott was not wearing a nappy, to which I explained he needed “free air time” to keep his bottom fresh and clear up the nappy rash. That was the end of that, or so I thought.

Days later, Sophie was helping me with the dishes but raced off to go to the toilet. Upon her return, I saw that she was wearing only a shirt. Before I could ask where her pants were, she raised her hand to stop me, declaring “I need to keep my fanny fresh”! Needless to say, through fits of laughter, Sophie and I had a little chat to clear up the confusion.
